Join the Society on an exciting trip to Minneapolis

Highlights of the trip are:
A private tour of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ Asian collection and the special exhibitions, Celestial Fragrance: Chinese Flower-and-Bird Painting and Layered Abstraction: Quilting and Contemporary Fiber Art. Also included is a visit to the Walker Arts Center where we will tour the museum and public gardens. We will spend a full day at St. John’s University to see the St. John’s Bible contemporary “illuminated manuscript” by Welsh master calligrapher Donald Jackson and take a tour of the pottery studio and wood-firing kiln with the master potter Richard Bresnahan. Other features include: a show at the famous Guthrie Theatre,  the Russian Museum of Art (Exhibitions are: From Thaw to Meltdown: Soviet Painting of the 1950s-1980s and Sculptures by Naum Mogilevsky), Weisman Museum of Art (ceramics from the Weisman Art Museum collection), other local museums and gardens. We will celebrate together with welcome and farewell dinners.

Price: $950 per person double occupancy, $465 single supplement includes five nights in a deluxe hotel, tours, bus transportation, show at the Guthrie, and welcome and farewell dinners. (Airfare not included). Maximum of 20 participants.

Registration Policies

The Society for Asian Art's cancellation policy requires at least one week's advance written notice in order to receive a refund of registration fees. This excludes our Travel programs, which have separate cancellation policies, as well as any programs where a specific refund policy is stated on the event page. Your fees will be returned to you through a check in the mail. To cancel, please contact us.

For programs located within the Asian Art Museum, the museum entrance fee must be paid separately and is not included with your registration fee.

Please note that by registering for a program, you are giving consent to the SAA to be photographed or videoed as a participant.
