
Textiles of Pakistan with John Gillow
Join us for a talk on the traditional textiles of Pakistan presenting a broad survey of the textiles produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries while placing them in their social and historical content. The talk will concentrate on the fabulous embroidered textiles of Sindh province as well as the woven and embroidered glories of the Punjab and Baluchistan and the Northwest Frontier regions of Pakistan.
John Gillow – author, lecturer, traveler, and collector – has spent more than 40 years collecting folk textiles of Asia and Africa. He has written extensively on world textiles including the textiles of India, Indonesia, and Africa. His latest work is "Textiles of the Islamic World."
Registration Policies
The Society for Asian Art's cancellation policy requires at least one week's advance written notice in order to receive a refund of registration fees. This excludes our Travel programs, which have separate cancellation policies, as well as any programs where a specific refund policy is stated on the event page. Your fees will be returned to you through a check in the mail. To cancel, please contact us.
For programs located within the Asian Art Museum, the museum entrance fee must be paid separately and is not included with your registration fee.
