Souk Information
Mark your calendars! The Society for Asian Art Souk returns to Fort Mason’s Firehouse October 29 and 30, 2016, and we’re collecting donations! All proceeds from this biennial bazaar benefit the Asian Art Museum and provide members and the public an opportunity to shop for Asian treasures and trinkets. If you’d like to donate to the Souk, we will be collecting donations on the following days:
August 26 - 2 to 4 p.m. (Friday)
September 9 - 2 to 4 p.m. (Friday)
September 23 - 2 to 4 p.m. (Friday)
October 7 - 2 to 4 p.m. (Friday)
We are accepting any Asian or Asian-themed art, antiques, collectibles, and crafts. Past donations have included textiles, clothing, Buddha figures, lamps, rugs, jewelry, paintings, scrolls, prints, screens, dolls, lacquerware, dishes, figurines, statues, and other art objects. Please note that we are not taking donations of large pieces of furniture since they are difficult to transport and sell.
Donation collection will be at the home of Trista Berkovitz and Stephen Pegors in San Francisco’s Richmond District at 855 29th Avenue, San Francisco. Trista and Steve live just north of Golden Gate Park, between Fulton and Cabrillo Streets. If you have any questions or need directions, please email Trista at trista.b@outlook.com or call her at 415-852-2774 (cell). Don’t miss this opportunity to make room in your closets, help the museum, and obtain a tax deduction all at the same time! Please donate!
