Qamar's talk will focus on the artists, patrons and poets at the great Islamic Courts whose stories are intertwined with the cultures of India, Iran, and Turkey. Pearls on a String, which has been organized by the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore in partnership with the Asian Art Museum, includes manuscripts, paintings, textiles, and ceramic and metalwork objects. Come get a preview of this exhibition with Qamar's insightful commentary on the background and life and times of the three individual "pearls" featured in the show.

Qamar Adamjee is the Associate Curator of South Asian Art at the AAM. She received her PhD from NYU's Institute of Fine Arts. Since coming to the Asian she has curated various exhibitions and given talks to the Society and docents. Her great interest is translating the past through art objects to make history relevant.
