This talk will focus on the monochrome ceramics in our new exhibition, Emperors’ Treasures – Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei. It will feature topics such as visual aesthetics, creative techniques, and the cultural and economic significance of these objects at the time they were produced and in the modern era.

Jennifer Chen is an independent researcher and writer on Chinese art, specializing in ceramics. She was educated in China and the U.S. as an art historian. Her curatorial experience includes working at the Shanghai Museum, Sotheby's in New York, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Seattle Art Museum.

The Society for Asian Art's cancellation policy requires at least one week's advance written notice in order to receive a refund of registration fees. This excludes our Travel programs, which have separate cancellation policies, as well as any programs where a specific refund policy is stated on the event page. Your fees will be returned to you through a check in the mail. To cancel, please contact us.

For programs located within the Asian Art Museum, the museum entrance fee must be paid separately and is not included with your registration fee.
