The Society for Asian Art invites Upper Category members to a Zoom webinar on Contemporary Japanese Prints with Ren Brown.

This online event will focus on the techniques of printmaking and how they can result in vastly different effects in the hands of various artists.

Ren Brown has had an art gallery focusing on contemporary Japanese prints in Bodega Bay since 1990. He showcases Japanese prints, antique tansu and wood-fired ceramics from both sides of the Pacific. Mr. Brown comes from a family of Japanophiles. His father was a professor of Japanese history at UC Berkeley and he lived in Tokyo while his father was on sabbatical. Mr. Brown studied Japanese at the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University while earning his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College. Starting his collection at age 20, Ren Brown's passion for Japanese prints made him become an art dealer.
