Asian Art and Heritage in Kansas City
April 2 - 7, 2023
Reservations will open on December 7, 2022.
Join the SAA tour to Kansas City for visits to extraordinary collections of Asian Art. Kansas City is home to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, which has a world famous collection of Chinese art while also featuring exceptional Japanese, Korean, South Asian and Islamic art. The tour also includes a visit to the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas, which has a remarkable collection of Asian art in renovated and reinstalled galleries. We will spend an afternoon with the owners of a noteworthy private Asian art collection in rural Missouri. We round out our time in Kansas City with tours and visits to other well-known museums - from the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art to the American Jazz Museum - as well as the less-known ones, such as the Thomas Hart Benton House and the Arabia Steamboat Museum.
Check your emails on December 7 for the email message with a link to register. Acceptance will be determined by the earliest sign-up date and a waiting list will be established. This trip is limited to 20 SAA members and is expected to fill immediately, so it is important to register immediately upon receipt of the email.
If you are not yet a member of the SAA, please join online.
